Terms & Conditions

The person whose name appears on the “Checking In” form agrees to take full responsibility for ensuring that all members of the party adhere to the terms and conditions set out below.

In these conditions of let, “owner” refers to the owner of the property you are booking, “property” refers to the room or cottage you are booking.


  1. The number of people occupying the property is limited to that stated on the website or time of booking, unless prior consent with the owner.
  2. You must pay 50% deposit to secure the deposit to secure the booking which is fully refundable 48 hours prior to check-in.
  3. You accept that the responsibility for personal property of guests occupying the accommodation is solely theirs. All vehicles are also left at the guests’ own risk. Guest agrees to absolve the owner of any responsibility for any accident or mishap to persons or property whilst on the premises or whilst engaged in any activity therein, or from any illness or injury arising from any cause whatsoever.
  4. You agree to use the property solely for its intended purpose as self-catering accommodation and to accept the owners right to refuse to hand over the property to any person deemed unsuitable to take charge. Causing nuisance or disturbance to neighbours, other guests or members of the public may result in you being asked to leave. No refund will be given.
  5. You agree to allow the owner’s access to the property at all reasonable times or whenever they deem necessary.
  6. You agree not to smoke in the property.
  7. You must respect and look after your accommodation during your stay; you must leave the property clean and tidy as you found it. Please inform the owners of any damages or breakages, to be repaired or replaced for the next guest. We reserve the right to charge you for any damage, breakages or excess cleaning.
  8. We reserve the right to take up to £300 for any damage or excess cleaning, from the card used for the original payment.
  9. You must vacate the property by 11am at the latest on your day of departure unless prior special arrangements have been made. All keys must be brought back to “The Farmers Arms, Market Place”. If you don’t do this we may charge you for a replacement key or lock as required.  In the event that a key is not returned after check-out we request you to contact the hotel to make arrangement for keys to be returned.
  10. Guest arrival is from 2pm onwards.
  11. All our portable electronic items have been tested and approved within the terms of the new Fire Assessments Regulations. As the use of your own personal electronic equipment is out of our control it must be at your own risk.
  12. Chattaway Inns reserve the right to amend prices quoted on the website due to errors or omissions but such changes shall be notified to the guests as soon as possible, the guests being able to cancel the booking if the amended booking is higher than the original price quoted.
  13. You agree if you breach any of these conditions of this contract by you or your party members the owners reserve the right to re-enter asking you to leave. No refund will be given.
